Privacy & setup

Your speech stays on your Mac.

Transcription runs on-device. After the initial speech-pack download (about 500 MB), it works offline. No account or subscription.

Two permissions. An optional practice.

Microphone access lets you dictate. Accessibility lets the shortcut work and inserts your text. Setup walks you through both. You can finish without practicing.

Text uses the clipboard to reach your app. That app and any clipboard tools may have their own sync settings.
